On the afternoon of the 31st, two police officers on duty in front of the main gate of the Ministry of National Defense in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, were stabbed by a man in his 70s wielding a weapon.

View original imageAccording to the police, Park Mo (77) was passing in front of the Ministry of National Defense main gate around 1:20 PM when the officers on duty told him to "move along quickly." He then took out a weapon from his bag and stabbed Sergeant Choi Mo in the abdomen and Officer Jeong Mo in the left arm.

The police arrested Park on the spot on charges of obstructing official duties and transferred him to the Samgakji Police Substation. The two injured officers were taken to nearby hospitals, the National Medical Center and Soonchunhyang University Hospital, respectively, for treatment.
