Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold the "2023 Recycling Sharing Resource Circulation Festival" at 11 a.m. on November 4th at the Buk Seoul Dream Forest Cultural Square to promote resource circulation and reuse culture.
The "2023 Recycling Sharing Resource Circulation Festival" is an event where residents sell and exchange used goods they no longer use. It is hosted by Gangbuk-gu and organized by Beondong 3 Complex Comprehensive Social Welfare Center (Director Kwon Jin-ok).
Until the first half of this year, the district held this event under the name "Dream Market" at locations such as Gangbuk Citizens' Sports Complex and Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center, but from the second half of the year, the event was changed and expanded to the "2023 Recycling Sharing Resource Circulation Festival."
This event was held at Buk Seoul Dream Forest, which attracts many family visitors, to encourage participation from various age groups, and diverse programs beyond just the sharing market were also introduced.
At the festival on the 4th, the following zones will be operated: the Anabada Zone for exchanging and selling reusable secondhand goods; the Experience Zone offering upcycling activities such as making denim bracelets, sock yarn crafts, and wooden dolls; the Sharing Zone for distributing donated items for free; the Event Zone with an environmental quiz event with the mayor; and the Promotion Zone providing information on various district projects.
Participants can exchange and purchase clothing, toys, miscellaneous goods, and household items at the Anabada Zone, and those who answer correctly in the environmental quiz (true/false questions) at the Event Zone will receive small prizes.
Additionally, at the Promotion Zone, participants can exchange 20 used batteries for one new battery set (2 pieces) and take part in a recycling sharing expansion event distributing shopping bags made from recycled used banners. Furthermore, the health experience booth offers consultations on prevention and management of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, smoking cessation and alcohol moderation methods, and mental health checkups.
The "2023 Recycling Sharing Resource Circulation Festival" is open to everyone. For more details about the festival, please visit the Gangbuk-gu website or contact the district's Cleaning Administration Division.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "Gangbuk-gu is promoting resource circulation through projects such as making shopping bags from recycled used banners and exchanging paper packs and transparent PET bottles. We hope many people will participate in resource circulation activities by exchanging used goods at this festival."
