To minimize damage from summer natural disasters, Yeongdeok-gun implemented proactive pre-measures by organizing emergency contact networks with related agencies and strengthening cooperation systems. It received high marks for active response measures such as drainage maintenance, disaster site patrol and control, and pre-evacuation of residents during typhoon warnings.
Additionally, during the summer natural disaster countermeasure period, activities recognized for minimizing disaster damage included emergency duty through operation of the disaster safety countermeasure headquarters upon issuance of typhoon and heavy rain warnings, patrolling dangerous areas such as coastal and riverside walking trails and riverbank parking lots, installing and controlling disaster safety lines in hazardous zones, maintaining roadside gutters, removing street trees at risk of falling, deploying dedicated personnel for disaster prevention facilities, and providing emergency measures at disaster sites.
