Coway Throws 'EM Soil Balls' to Purify Anyangcheon River
Volunteer Cleanup Activity at Anyangcheon with Employees and Staff Volunteers
Coway (CEO Seo Jang-won) announced on the 30th that, as part of its environmental protection activities, it conducted the second 'EM (Effective Microorganisms) Mud Ball Throwing Volunteer Activity' of the year at Anyangcheon.
The activity held on the 27th was attended by about 30 participants, including Coway employees and volunteers. At the Anyangcheon Multipurpose Square, they kneaded fermented microorganisms solution and loess to make 2,000 EM mud balls and threw them into the Anyangcheon river. The handmade EM mud balls were donated to the 'EM Life Sharing Movement' to be used in future volunteer activities.

When thrown into rivers or streams, they gradually dissolve, purifying the water and eliminating odors. As the ecosystem of rivers and streams recovers, it also helps absorb and reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
This EM mud ball throwing volunteer activity marked the second session since the first activity in May. During this volunteer event, a 'river plogging' activity was also conducted, where participants walked about 1 km along the Anyangcheon area collecting trash around the stream. River plogging is an environmental cleanup activity that involves picking up trash while running or walking near water bodies.
