Israel Eliminates Hamas' First Ambush Air Combat Commander
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they have eliminated Asem Abu Rakaba, the head of Hamas's aerial operations.
According to the IDF on the 28th (local time), overnight airstrikes targeted 150 underground sites in northern Gaza and Hezbollah military facilities in Lebanon.
The IDF stated, "Based on intelligence from the IDF and Israeli security agencies overnight, IDF fighter jets conducted an airstrike on Asem Abu Rakaba, the head of Hamas's aerial squadron." They added, "Abu Rakaba was responsible for Hamas's unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), paragliders, aerial reconnaissance, and air defense." Furthermore, they explained, "He participated in planning the massacre near Gaza on October 7, directed terrorists to infiltrate using paragliders, and commanded drone attacks against the IDF."
