'Drug Allegations' Lee Seon-gyun Summoned for Police Investigation Today... Drug Reagent Test Also Conducted
Actor Lee Seon-gyun (48), who has been booked on drug use charges, will be summoned by the police for questioning on the 28th.
The Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they plan to summon Lee, who is suspected of marijuana and psychotropic drug offenses under the Narcotics Control Act, for investigation in the afternoon. Upon Lee's appearance, the police will conduct a drug test to determine whether he used drugs, as well as the type and frequency. Earlier, the police confirmed that Lee was staying in the country and issued a travel ban through the Ministry of Justice.
According to the police, Lee is suspected of using various types of drugs, including marijuana, at the Seoul residence of A (29, female), a manager of a nightlife establishment, since early this year.
The police detected Lee's involvement while verifying intelligence that drugs were being distributed at a "membership-only room salon" in Gangnam, Seoul. This nightlife establishment caters to high-income clientele.
The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency has identified a total of 10 individuals under investigation for drug charges, including Lee and singer G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong). Among them, Kwon has been booked on drug charges under the Narcotics Control Act and is currently subject to a travel ban.
The nightlife establishment manager A was arrested on psychotropic drug charges, and a doctor and a nightlife establishment employee were also booked on charges of drug supply and use, respectively. A is also accused of extorting 350 million won from Lee through threats.
