Wando-gun Discovers New Policies to Lead an Era of Happiness for Residents
297 Cases Received, 10 Selected Including Barefoot Walking Trail Linked to Marine Healing Center
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do recently held the ‘2024 New Policy Report Meeting’ at the county office situation room, attended by Deputy Governor Kim Hyun-cheol, Director of Planning and Budget Office, Director of Population and Job Policy Office, and other senior officials along with policy proposers.
According to the county on the 27th, to discover innovative ideas, a total of 297 new policy proposals were received from all public officials throughout August.
The submitted policies underwent feasibility reviews and excellent policy evaluations, resulting in the selection of 30 proposals in the first round. Through the report meeting, proposers’ opinions were heard and the final 10 policies were selected.
The major policies selected at the meeting include △ creating a barefoot walking path at Sinji Myeongsasimni linked to the Marine Healing Center △ cultivating premium Dongchunghacho using Wando abalone △ fostering gas safety guardians in our villages △ installing remaining time indicators on vehicle traffic signals, among others.
The selected policies will be reviewed by each department, incorporated into next year’s main budget, and implemented with concrete plans.
Deputy Governor Kim Hyun-cheol urged public officials to “do their best to realize a hopeful future where everyone prospers in the second year of the 8th elected administration,” and added, “I hope each department will continuously strive to discover policies with the belief that even small interest in county administration brings great development to Wando-gun.”
Meanwhile, the county is preparing to open the Marine Healing Center, a core facility of the marine healing industry, and is accelerating projects such as the establishment of the National Subtropical Arboretum, construction of the National Marine Fisheries Museum, and the Gwangju?Wando Expressway to achieve uninterrupted development.
