G-Dragon Denies Drug Use Allegations, Says "No Drug Use"
Statement Through Lawyer
Police "Considering Travel Ban on Lee Seon-gyun and Others"
Singer G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong), who caused a scandal over allegations of drug use, has completely denied the charges.
On the 27th, G-Dragon released an official statement through his lawyer, asserting, "I have never used drugs." He added, "I am also unrelated to the news reports recently disclosed in the media regarding violations of the Narcotics Control Act."
He further stated, "Knowing that many people are concerned, I will actively cooperate with the investigation authorities and respond more sincerely."
The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Division announced that they have been investigating Kwon without detention since the 25th on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act. Earlier, the police had booked actor Lee Sun-kyun on charges of marijuana and psychotropic substances under the same law. However, the police explained that Kwon's case is a separate matter unrelated to Lee's drug use incident. On the 26th, the police also stated that they are considering banning their departure from the country.
The police also booked doctor A without detention on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act. They are investigating on the grounds that Dr. A supplied drugs to both Lee and Kwon without receiving any separate compensation.
