One Middleman on the Run, Wanted
A group supplying and selling drugs to foreign seafarers was caught by the Coast Guard.
The Sacheon Coast Guard in Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that they arrested four people in their 40s, including Mr. A, through a focused crackdown on drug offenders in the western Gyeongnam area, and sent one of them to prosecution under detention.

According to Sacheon Coast Guard, the arrested Mr. A supplied narcotics such as fentanyl to Mr. B in his 30s and Mr. C in his 20s, who acted as intermediaries in Jinju City.
Mr. B and Mr. C were found to have been hiding in motels and distributing and selling the supplied narcotics to Mr. D in his 20s and Mr. E in his 30s.
The Sacheon Coast Guard conducted searches of the residences and hideouts of the arrested group, seizing 1.19g of methamphetamine, fentanyl patches, narcotics, disposable syringes, and evidence used for injection and inhalation.
Mr. A and two others were released without detention, while the supplier Mr. B was sent to prosecution under detention. The whereabouts of the intermediary Mr. C, who has not yet been caught, are currently being tracked.
Mr. C, who has been on the run for a long time using a mobile phone registered under the name of a foreign fisheries worker, is currently wanted by the authorities.
Earlier, around October 2022, the Sacheon Coast Guard received intelligence that drugs were being supplied and sold to foreign seafarers in the area and began investigating the case.

A Sacheon Coast Guard official said, “We plan to continuously expand investigations related to narcotics, including international drug crime organizations and methamphetamine smuggling agents.”
