A man in his 50s with a prior robbery conviction, who was on probation in Daegu and damaged his electronic anklet (location tracking electronic device) before absconding, was apprehended by judicial authorities after six days.
The Ministry of Justice announced on the 25th at 5:28 PM that Mr. A (56, male) was caught on the street in Sadong, Sangnok-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi Province.
Mr. A, a convicted robber, damaged his electronic anklet near a forest in Daemyeong-dong, Nam-gu, Daegu at 6:08 PM on the 20th and fled. Investigators stated that
Mr. A avoided detection by walking from Daegu to Ansan without using public transportation and did not carry a mobile phone.
A Ministry of Justice official said, "He will be transferred to the prosecution after investigation according to the procedures prescribed by law."
