30s Teacher Urgently Arrested for Sexual Harassment of Female Elementary School Student
Accused of Touching Specific Body Parts of Female Students for 7 Months
School Vice Principal Reports to Police, 5 Victims Confirmed
A report was filed that a homeroom teacher at an elementary school in Gyeonggi Province sexually assaulted students over several months, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 25th, the Women and Juvenile Investigation Unit of the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency announced that they had urgently arrested a male teacher in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
Mr. A, who worked as a homeroom teacher at an elementary school in Gyeonggi Province, is accused of touching specific body parts of female students in his class over approximately seven months starting from March.
A student in the same class who witnessed Mr. A's misconduct reported it to the school, and the vice principal subsequently listened to the statements of the victims before reporting the matter to the police.
So far, five victims have been confirmed. However, as additional reports are being filed with the police, the number of victims is expected to increase.

The police have gathered sufficient evidence regarding Mr. A's charges and have detained him in a detention center. They are also actively considering requesting an arrest warrant.
