Damyang-gun Holds Local Agricultural Specialty Promotion Event at Bongeunsa Temple in Seoul
Captivating Metropolitan Consumers by Showcasing Over 60 Varieties of Diverse Agricultural Specialties
On the 25th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held a promotional sales event for local agricultural specialty products over two days starting from the 21st at Gangnam Bongeunsa Temple (Chief Priest Wonmyeong) directly managed by the Jogye Order.
At the event, seven representative companies from Damyang-gun, including Damyang Jangteo Co., Ltd. and Myeonggahye, participated to showcase about 60 different products produced in Damyang, such as yakgwa, sikhye, gochujang, tteokgalbi, and Myeonggahye tea.
In particular, a Juksin Golden Tea tasting rest area was created to introduce the scent of Damyang to foreigners.
Additionally, tofu snacks, hyun and cheong jelly tasting events were held for visitors to Bongeunsa Temple and citizens of the Seoul metropolitan area, while distributing Daesup Malgeun rice, which has won awards in Jeollanam-do for 13 consecutive years, promoting the excellence of Damyang rice to metropolitan consumers.
Some items, such as tofu snacks, sold out from the morning of the first day, receiving enthusiastic responses from metropolitan consumers.
Damyang-gun signed a win-win cooperation agreement with Bongeunsa Temple earlier this year to revitalize the local economy through the sale of agricultural specialty products and is also cooperating in promoting the Hometown Love Donation Program and Damyang Jangteo Mall.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no expressed gratitude, saying, “We appreciate the opportunity to hold the Damyang-gun agricultural specialty products event at Bongeunsa Temple,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to promote Damyang’s excellent agricultural products nationwide and beyond to the world.”

Meanwhile, Damyang-gun is currently running a 10% discount event on all items at the Damyang Jangteo Mall, an online shopping mall selling the products sold at Bongeunsa Temple as well as various other Damyang agricultural specialty products.
