Jindo-gun Hosts Chrysanthemum Exhibition... Over 500 Diverse Chrysanthemum Works on Display
‘Chrysanthemum Fragrance Rides on Jindo Arirang’ Held at Jindo Dog Theme Park
Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, will hold a chrysanthemum exhibition at the Jindo Dog Theme Park from the 27th of this month to the 15th of next month.
According to the county on the 25th, this chrysanthemum exhibition, held under the theme "The Scent of Chrysanthemums Rides on Jindo Arirang," features 120,000 chrysanthemums produced and is organized into four themes: memories, healing, hope, and agricultural products. About 500 diverse chrysanthemum works, including large sculptural chrysanthemums, bonsai chrysanthemums, Hyunae chrysanthemums, and large chrysanthemums, will be displayed.
In particular, this year's event has expanded more than five times compared to last year, with 19 local farms participating and producing 800,000 garden chrysanthemums.
The county stated that the increase in direct income of over 300 million KRW annually for farms, along with the psychological pride gained from exhibiting chrysanthemum works they personally cultivated, led to active participation by farmers and the expansion of the exhibition scale.
Additionally, about 50 high-quality large bonsai chrysanthemum works, created through bonsai technique education at the Eco-friendly Agriculture University by members of the Chrysanthemum Industrialization Research Association every year, will be exhibited. During the event period, a sales booth will also be operated next to the chrysanthemum bonsai exhibition hall.
County Governor Kim Hee-su said, "We will expand the four-season blooming Jindo and the autumn chrysanthemum festival to widely promote the beauty of Jindo-gun dyed with chrysanthemums," adding, "We hope visitors to Jindo will fully enjoy the scent of chrysanthemums and the autumn atmosphere."
