Youth Song Festival & Final Debate Session
Daegu City and the Daegu Youth Center will hold the ‘2023 Daegu Youth Week’ event for three days from the 27th to the 29th in the downtown area of Dongsung-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu, under the slogan ‘Youth World Dongsung-ro,’ as a festival where youth and citizens can enjoy together.
The main programs of the 9th annual ‘2023 Daegu Youth Week’ include an opening ceremony, stage performances by local rookie and professional artists, a talk show featuring celebrities, a youth song festival and youth dance competition, exhibition and experience booth zones, and youth organization exchange events.
The opening ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on the 27th at Dongsung-ro 28 Art Square, starting with an opening stage by the Daegu Youth Musical Company, followed by a congratulatory performance and performance by Park Myung-soo, a DJ and singer with many years of festival experience, and performances by local youth artists, marking a passionate start to Daegu Youth Week.
The stage performances will feature a variety of genres performed by rookie and professional youth artists from Daegu. Diverse performances are prepared, including stage performances by youth majoring in local performing arts, performances by youth dancers who have returned from other regions, and a music concert by a visually impaired performing arts group.
The talk show will be conducted in a format where questions and answers are exchanged in real time through an open chat room. On the 28th, YouTuber Lee Yong-ju of ‘Pisik University,’ created by comedians who are receiving focused attention for their lively talks, will be invited, and on the 29th, Um Ji-yoon, active as Umjirella, will be invited to create a space for intergenerational communication.
The booth zone consists of experience booths where visitors can try making rattan baskets, cakes, leather crafts, and more; youth-tailored policy promotion booths; planning booths that share and exhibit youth tastes; and chat rooms where various topics are discussed.
In addition, various programs for youth are prepared, including a youth song festival and youth dance competition where youth who passed the preliminaries compete, a moonlight exchange meeting between youth from Daegu and Gwangju, a nationwide youth participation organization exchange meeting, and a final debate meeting discussing youth policies and various topics.
