In Georgia, USA, a demolition company mistakenly demolished the wrong house due to an address mix-up. The homeowner was left bewildered after returning from vacation to find their house demolished.
According to the AP News and others on the 23rd (local time), Susan Hodgeson, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, witnessed her home turned into ruins after returning from vacation last month. A local demolition company mistakenly demolished Hodgeson's house without permission, confusing the address of the house to be demolished. Neighbors revealed that while Hodgeson was away on vacation, a demolition company appeared and abruptly demolished the house. When neighbors asked the company, "Why are you demolishing this?" the representative refused to answer, saying, "Mind your own business."
Hodgeson checked the demolition permit to understand the situation. As a result, she discovered that the company had demolished the wrong house. Hodgeson said, "I have lived in this house for 15 years, and I have taken good care of the yard, including mowing the lawn," adding, "I have paid all my taxes and there were no issues."
Hodgeson reported the incident to the police and consulted with lawyers but has yet to find a proper solution. She added, "We are looking into what we should do."
