Joint Response to Special Act Amendments Including Discovery of Educational Special Cases and Information Exchange
The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Seo Geoseok) and the Jeju, Sejong, and Gangwon Special Self-Governing City and Provincial Offices of Education announced on the 23rd that they have launched the "Special Self-Governing City and Provincial Offices of Education Educational Autonomy Working Council (hereinafter referred to as the Working Council)" at the Jeju Provincial Office of Education.
The four special self-governing city and provincial offices of education plan to sign a memorandum of understanding in November to strengthen joint cooperation for the realization of educational autonomy.

According to the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, the Working Council is composed of heads of departments and officers in charge related to the special law from the Jeonbuk, Jeju, Sejong, and Gangwon special self-governing city and provincial offices of education. It is a coalition organization among education offices that will promote information exchange and cooperative activities for the enactment and revision of the special law.
The council will jointly identify educational field exceptions under the special law to realize local decentralization and educational autonomy. The meeting will be held over two days until the 24th, discussing the establishment of regulations regarding the composition and operation of the Working Council, jointly promoting improvement tasks for the special law system in 2024, and future project contents.

An official from the provincial office of education stated, "Going forward, we plan to cooperate mutually with the Jeju, Sejong, and Gangwon special self-governing city and provincial offices of education to jointly respond to the revision of the special law by discovering educational exceptions under the special law and exchanging information."
