Gwangju Lotte Department Store Presents This Year's First Harvest of Jirisan Sancheong Strawberries
Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch announced on the 23rd that it will showcase this year's first strawberries shipped from Sancheong, Jirisan, at the basement level 1 fruit and vegetable store.
Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do, is a representative production area for winter strawberries, grown in the pristine region at the foot of Jirisan Mountain, and is especially famous for its high sugar content.
The strawberries introduced at the Gwangju branch this time are of the Janghee variety, characterized by their sweetness and soft flesh. Thanks to early harvesting techniques used by Sancheong farmers, these strawberries are harvested about two months earlier than the main harvest season in December, allowing customers at the Gwangju branch to enjoy them first.
