Gyeongnam Police Agency Catches 37 Drunk Drivers... Enforcement to Be Strengthened
From midnight to midnight on the 21st, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency conducted the 6th nationwide crackdown on drunk driving during the autumn holiday season at 26 locations across the province, including the Naeseo, Sacheon, and Geochang tollgate (TG) entrances and exits, major tourist sites, and restaurant districts.
According to the provincial police agency on the 22nd, a total of 37 drunk drivers were caught that day. Among them, 23 people, including a man in his 50s caught at 11:11 PM in front of Imho Elementary School in Oedong, Gimhae City, had their licenses revoked, and 14 received license suspensions.
Police officers are conducting a drunk driving crackdown in Yangdeok-dong, Masanhoewon-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

The crackdown involved 80 officers from the traffic police and local police, along with 46 patrol cars.

A representative from the provincial police agency stated, “We will thoroughly enforce crackdowns to eradicate drunk driving and strengthen patrols in high-risk traffic accident areas and key posts. We will also continue education and promotional activities to prevent agricultural machinery accidents during the harvest season.”
