Sunchang-gun Hosts 'Village Cultural Heritage Video Presentation'

On the 23rd, Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk announced that the ‘Village Cultural Heritage Team’ shared village cultural heritage video content created together with residents from the 20th to the 21st at Paldeok Elementary School, Yudeung Yucheon Village, Sunchang Traditional Market, and Jeokseong Myodong Village areas.

The Village Cultural Heritage Team, composed of about 10 local youths, is a youth organization that has been recording the villages of Sunchang on video since last year under the theme ‘We Are All Villages,’ seeking cultural activities that span generations through collaboration between young people and village residents.

This video presentation was initiated after the youth organization Village Cultural Heritage Team was selected for this year’s public contest project, the ‘Jeonbuk Youth Vivid Idea Support Project,’ supported by Jeonbuk Province and Sunchang-gun. The focus was on recording the perspectives of young people looking at the villages on video and sharing the content with village residents.

To produce this video, the Village Cultural Heritage Team prepared for the event by collecting village resources through on-site village surveys, resident interviews, and video shooting since May, and the presentation brought vitality to the local community by fostering harmony between village residents and young people.

Besides this video presentation, the Village Cultural Heritage Team successfully presented the ‘Pungsan-myeon Yongnae Village Night of Records’ through the 2022 Youth Community Revitalization Support Project and the Sunchang-gun Living Lab Project.

They have also continued active activities and achievements, such as collaborating in various ways including video production for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ Saengsaeng Village Contest (Bokheung-myeon Deokheung Village), winning the Silver Prize (Minister’s Award) in the natural scenery category.

Choi Young-il, the county governor, said, “I am truly grateful that the local youths have taken an interest in our region and created precious videos that preserve the appearance of the area,” adding, “We will continue to provide wholehearted support so that local youths can carry out various activities without restrictions.”
