Samsung Heavy Industries Obtains ABS Certification for 'Real-Time Fault Diagnosis System'
ABS Class AIP Certification at 'Komarine 2023'
Smart Solution Predicting Maintenance Timing
Samsung Heavy Industries announced that it will participate in 'International Shipbuilding and Offshore Industry Exhibition 2023 (KORMARINE 2023)' held at BEXCO, Busan from the 24th to the 27th, showcasing smart, digital, and eco-friendly technologies.
On the second day of the event, the 25th, Samsung Heavy Industries is scheduled to obtain SMART MHM (Machinery Health Monitoring) AIP certification for the condition-based smart fault diagnosis system 'SVESSEL CBM (Condition Based Maintenance)' from the American ABS classification society.
Utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, SVESSEL CBM is a smart solution that remotely analyzes vibration and current signals of key ship equipment to enable real-time fault diagnosis and maintenance timing prediction. It is currently applied to LNG carriers being built by Samsung Heavy Industries.
