Hyundai Elevator Wins Design Award in Japan... Sweeps Four Major Design Awards
Hyundai Elevator announced on the 23rd that it received the grand prize at the 2023 Japan Good Design Award, considered one of the world's four major design competitions.
The air sterilization and purification device (PI-DD), launched last year, is a product that combines air sterilization and purification functions with the elevator's internal floor indicator. Designed with a perforated hole design, it allows passengers and managers to naturally recognize the operating status without separating the display. The air intake and exhaust ports are placed at the top to enhance aesthetics, and a magnetic cover is applied for easy maintenance.

The judging panel highly evaluated the award-winning product for being easy to manage without compromising the overall design, the company said. The award, given by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, is a competition that comprehensively evaluates designs in various fields such as general consumer goods, systems, services, and buildings. Along with Germany's Red Dot, iF Design Award, and the United States' IDEA, it is considered one of the world's four major design competitions. Hyundai Elevator has received awards from all four competitions.
