Nanobrick Enters ESL Market with Proprietary Electronic Paper Technology
Advanced nano new material specialist company Nanobrick announced on the 23rd that it has successfully applied its electronic paper ‘E-Skin’ to an electronic shelf label (ESL) module.
E-Skin is an electronic paper developed with Nanobrick’s proprietary technology protected by patents, unlike conventional electronic paper. It allows color tone and pattern changes in specific colors desired by customers and facilitates large-area mass production.
Earlier in January, Nanobrick successfully established a large-area mass production line for E-Skin targeting the emotional interior and exterior materials market, including ▲electronic products ▲electric vehicles ▲robots ▲interior design.
Through continuous mounting application and quality improvement of E-Skin, Nanobrick succeeded in TFT (thin-film transistor) driving last May. With the recent success in applying the ESL module, the company has officially entered the ESL market, the largest market for electronic paper.
A Nanobrick representative said, “This successful application of the ESL module was based on our technology that improved the visibility of E-Skin by more than 20%,” adding, “We will accelerate business partnerships with various global collaborators by emphasizing excellent cost-effectiveness.”
He added, “With E-Skin’s competitiveness in enabling various color tone changes and large-area production, we plan to focus on the digital signage market, which requires emotional design elements and large-area displays.”

Meanwhile, Nanobrick independently built a common production base for various functional materials called the ‘Active Nano-Platform.’ Based on this, it received the highest technology evaluation grade (AA, AA) in 2019 and was listed through a technology special listing. Nanobrick has proven the competitiveness of its common production base by successfully commercializing security, bio, and display products consecutively.
