157 Participants Explored Jeju Culture from 23rd to 25th
Establishing a Collaborative and Symbiotic Corporate Social Responsibility System
Ulsan City and local companies gifted a trip to Jeju Island to low-income people with disabilities.
Ulsan City announced that it will operate the program “Happy Companionship, Flying the Sky Together,” which supports travel for low-income people with disabilities who have difficulty moving independently and face economic challenges, from the 23rd to the 25th in Jeju Island.
This event, promoted as the “2023 Ulsan City Social Contribution Agreement Companies Joint Program,” is hosted by Ulsan City, organized by the Ulsan Volunteer Center, and sponsored by 21 social contribution agreement companies. It was first held in 2019, and this year marks the second event.
A total of 157 participants will take part in the event (69 people with disabilities, 46 corporate volunteers, and 42 guides), and the farewell ceremony will be held at 8:20 a.m. at the Dongcheon Gymnasium Plaza in Jung-gu on the day.
Since 2012, Ulsan City has signed social contribution agreements with 21 companies and has been promoting various projects to activate corporate volunteer activities.
In 2022, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the social contribution agreement, UECO held a commemorative event and a consolation event inviting local senior citizens.
This year’s event minimizes the difficulties and inconveniences that people with disabilities have experienced during travel and is conducted through one-on-one matching between people with disabilities and corporate volunteers to ensure a satisfying trip. It is being recognized as a “paradigm shift in corporate social contribution.”
An official from Ulsan City said, “Despite the many difficulties companies face due to the rapidly changing economic situation, we deeply appreciate Ulsan’s companies for actively supporting and participating in volunteer activities for people with mobility difficulties.”
