US Responds to China's Graphite Export Controls: "Cooperating with Allies to Build Stable Supply Chains"
White House Spokesperson Highlights the Need for Supply Chain Diversification
The U.S. government announced that it will cooperate with allies and others to establish a stable supply chain for key industries in response to China's strengthened export controls on graphite.
According to major foreign media on the 20th (local time), a White House spokesperson said they are assessing the potential impact of China's measures, adding, "These actions highlight the need to diversify supply chains."
The spokesperson further emphasized, "The United States will continue to work with our allies and partner countries to build stable, sustainable, and resilient critical supply chains."
This is interpreted as an intention to strengthen supply chain cooperation with friendly countries by utilizing frameworks such as the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), launched last year under U.S. leadership and currently involving 14 countries including South Korea.
