"“I’ll Shoot Commercials Again and Earn More” Lee Hyori Donates 300 Million Won to Areumdaun Foundation"
"Supporting the Lives of Single Mothers" Announced
Singer Lee Hyori donated 300 million won to single mothers in urgent need of help.
According to the Beautiful Foundation on the 20th, Lee Hyori donated 300 million won to the foundation on the 19th for single mothers in urgent need of assistance. The donation will be used for emergency support funds for low-income single mothers, customized vocational training expenses, and the formation of social networks.
Single mothers raising children alone face difficulties balancing childcare and economic activities. Many also struggle to establish a stable nurturing environment and achieve financial independence.

The foundation stated, “Single mothers do not have many networks or services to request appropriate support in emergency situations.” The donation will be used for the foundation’s ‘Single Mothers Recovery Support Project.’
Previously, Lee Hyori first connected with the Beautiful Foundation in 2011 by supporting winter heating costs for elderly people living alone and volunteering with fans to deliver briquettes and install windproof sheets.
In 2012, she established the ‘Hyori’ fund, meaning to bring benefits to elders through filial piety, to support heating costs for vulnerable elderly groups.
Lee Hyori also demonstrated social influence through continuous donations and volunteer work, encouraging general donors’ sharing by participating in campaigns such as ‘I Oppose,’ which voices opposition to social issues each person thinks about, and the ‘Yellow Envelope’ campaign, which supports livelihood, medical, and legal aid for families affected by compensation damages, sparking a nationwide ‘donation boom.’

According to the foundation, Lee Hyori said, “I started sharing because I wanted to practice small actions I can do to make a better world,” and added, “I support the shining lives of single mothers and want to widely spread the beauty of life shared with neighbors through various sharing activities in the future.”
Earlier, in 2012, Lee Hyori declared she would not appear in commercial advertisements that did not align with her values while engaging in environmental movements, vegetarianism, and stray dog protection activities, and she had not appeared in commercials since then. However, in July, after about ten years, she posted on her SNS, “I want to do commercials again. For commercial inquiries, contact (agency) Antenna Music,” announcing her return to commercial advertising.
Afterward, she received numerous commercial offers and signed contracts with an online shopping platform (Lotte ON) and a sports brand (Reebok), among others, and filmed commercials. Why did she start appearing in commercials again?

Regarding this, Lee Hyori recently appeared on the YouTube program ‘Jjanhan Hyung’ hosted by Shin Dong-yup and said, “When making a new song, I wanted to use the dance team HolyBang (the winning team of ‘Street Woman Fighter’ Season 1), hire expensive composers, and spend hundreds of millions on music videos like before, but I felt sorry to ask the company. I wanted to show it, and fans wanted it too, so I wondered why I said ‘I won’t do this (commercial ads).’ I should have earned a lot, spent a lot, and donated a lot,” she revealed.
