Dong-A University Hosts the 4th Busan Region Industry-Academia-Research Regional Innovation Forum
The Dong-A University 3rd Phase Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University Development Project Group (LINC 3.0) held the "4th Busan Region Industry-Academia-Research Regional Innovation Forum" on the 19th at the Convention Hall of Gyeongnam Information University Centum Campus.
Co-hosted by 14 universities in the Busan area including Dong-A University, this forum was held under the theme "Busan Region Industry-Government-Academia Cooperation Tasks Following the Introduction of the RISE System."
The forum gathered experts from various fields to prepare for the paradigm shift of the RISE system, serving as a platform to find innovative solutions through cooperation and information sharing among diverse stakeholders and to present new directions for industry-government-academia cooperation.
The 14 universities including Dong-A University signed the "Industry-Government-Academia Cooperation Agreement for Innovative Growth and Regional Economic Revitalization in the Busan Area," committing to establish a close cooperative system between universities and local governments and to seek joint solutions.
The universities participating in this forum were Dong-A University, Gyeongnam Information University, Kyungsung University, Dongmyung University, Dongseo University, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, Dong-Eui University, Pukyong National University, Busan Institute of Science and Technology, Pusan National University, Busan Health College, Busan Women's College, Silla University, and Korea Maritime and Ocean University.

View original imageThe event began with a keynote speech by Yang Soo-kyung, Secretary of the Ministry of Education's Regional Talent Policy Division and RISE officer, titled "University-Region Co-Growth Innovation Ecosystem, Establishment of the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE)," followed by thematic presentations.
The thematic presentations included "2023 Busan City RISE Promotion Direction and Plan" by Won Kwang-hae, Director of the Industry-Government-Academia Cooperation Group at Busan Technopark; "Challenges of Industry-Government-Academia University Education Innovation in the RISE System" by Lee Eun-hwa, Head of the Industry-Academia-Research Education Innovation Support Center at Silla University; and "Proposals for Establishing RISE Reflecting the Characteristics of Junior Colleges" by Jeong Kyu-myung, Vice President of Busan Health College.
