‘Safety Culture’ Runs on the Expressway!
The Ministry of Employment and Labor (Minister Lee Jeong-sik) has signed a business agreement with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and Korea Expressway Corporation to launch a campaign to spread safety culture.
On the 20th at 10:30 a.m., the three organizations held a business agreement ceremony at the Seoul Metropolitan Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and agreed to cooperate in spreading safety culture through expressways.
Through this agreement, they plan to disseminate safety culture messages at rest areas on expressways nationwide, which are used by many citizens.
Safety culture TV campaign videos will be broadcast on monitors installed in restaurants and other facilities within rest areas, and stickers with safety culture messages will be attached to cup holders and food containers at cafes and restaurants located in the rest areas.
Additionally, banners featuring safety culture slogans will be installed at rest area buildings and restroom entrances to emphasize the importance of both industrial safety and traffic safety.
Ryu Kyung-hee, Director of the Industrial Safety and Health Headquarters at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, said, “Expressway rest areas are shared points of traffic safety and industrial safety where many drivers and workers gather. We hope that the safety culture messages encountered by many drivers and workers while resting will raise awareness of industrial accidents and remind them once again of the importance of safety.”
Ahn Jong-joo, President of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, stated, “Carrying out safety culture spreading activities on expressways, the arteries of our country’s industrial development, will be a highly influential campaign that can reach not only industrial sites but also homes. It is an opportunity to instill safety awareness throughout society,” he emphasized.
