Kim Ki-hyun: "People Power Party will meet public expectations with calm but definite change"
Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, said on the 19th, "We will cherish the public sentiment confirmed in the Gangseo District Office by-election like precious gold and thoroughly adopt a people-centered, livelihood-first stance."
At the People Power Party's Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Kim said, "Since the National Assembly audit was in full swing yesterday, we minimized the number of attendees and had a meeting with the President," adding, "We decided to regularize the weekly high-level party-government meeting and strengthen communication between the party and the government regarding livelihood issues." He continued, "The party, the Presidential Office, and the government will listen more seriously to economic issues and livelihood tasks, and the party will take a leading role in conveying public sentiment to ensure there is no gap with the people's will."

This is interpreted as the party intending to take a more proactive role in expressing opinions to the Presidential Office and others.
This Supreme Council meeting was the first held after the replacement of appointed party officials following the crushing defeat in the Gangseo District Office by-election. Regarding future plans, Kim said, "In response to the question of how much change our party can show to the people, we will meet the public's expectations with calm but definite change and substantial improvement."
