Gwangju Dong-gu Chungjang Festival Selected for Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Local 100
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, which hosts the annual 'Chungjang Festival,' has been recognized as a leading cultural content in Korea.
According to the district on the 19th, the '20th Gwangju Nostalgic Chungjang Festival' and the '2nd Gwangju Busking World Cup' were both selected for the 'Local 100 (Top 100 Regional Cultural Attractions)' chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Among 461 candidates, they received high evaluations in areas such as ▲attractiveness, uniqueness, and connection to regional culture ▲cultural, economic, and social effects ▲influence on visits and enjoyment by local residents and visitors ▲potential contribution to regional development.
'Local 100' is a project that selects a total of 100 items to widely promote regional cultural resources, including ▲58 regional cultural landmarks ▲40 regional cultural contents ▲2 regional cultural masters, and promotes them intensively domestically and internationally for two years.
