Goheung-gun Explains Establishing a Population Base of 100,000 in 10 Years

Gongyeongmin, the governor of Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that he is actively engaging in comprehensive activities by visiting the Ministry of Economy and Finance to establish the foundation for a population of 100,000 in 10 years, which is the goal of the 8th local government administration.

Following his visit to the National Assembly on the 17th, Governor Gong visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 18th to explain the key projects being promoted by Goheung-gun and requested active financial support.

The key projects proposed by Goheung-gun on this day include ▲ National Palyeongsan Subtropical Forest Healing Center (project cost undecided), ▲ Creation of a fisheries and aquaculture complex in the reclaimed land of Goheung Bay (47 billion KRW), ▲ Establishment of an agricultural startup complex (15 billion KRW), ▲ Construction of a dried seaweed collection center and export seaweed relay center (20 billion KRW), ▲ Creation of a global leader training hub space for Marianne and Margaret (17 billion KRW), and ▲ Construction of a food tech convergence research support center (project cost undecided).

On this day, Governor Gong met with Kim Dong-il, Director of the Budget Office at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Yoo Soo-young, Administrative and Defense Budget Review Officer, Jang Yoon-jung, General Manager of Budget Coordination, Park Jeong-min, Manager of Agriculture, Forestry and Maritime Budget, and Kwon Ki-jung, Manager of Administrative Budget, to explain the key projects.

Governor Gong said, “Securing stable national funding is the top priority for the change and development of Goheung,” and added, “I will continue to visit central government ministries, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the National Assembly regularly to ensure the foundation for a population of 100,000 in 10 years is established.”
