Silla University Department of Food and Nutrition Wins Poster Excellence Award at International Academic Conference
The Department of Food and Nutrition at Silla University received poster excellence awards in both the Food Science and Bioactive Materials categories at the ‘2023 Korean Society for Life Sciences 65th International Academic Conference’.
The conference was held over two days, from the 5th to the 6th, at Donguibogam Village in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, with graduate students from Silla University’s Department of Food and Nutrition participating.
Graduate students Kang Jeonghyun and Shin Yujin from Silla University’s Department of Food and Nutrition, under the guidance of Professor Kim Mihyang, presented their research titled ‘Bacillus Licheniformis CP6 Fermented Abelmoschus Manihot Jinhuakui Ameliorates Bone Loss in Ovariectomized Rats and Suppresses Osteoclastogenesis Through NFATc1/c-Fos Signaling Pathway,’ receiving a poster excellence award in the Food Sciences category.

Graduate students Kim Hyoeun and Jo Migeon from the Department of Food and Nutrition, together with Professors Gong Changsuk and Fatih Karadeniz, presented their research ‘HIV-1 entry inhibitory effect of phosphorylated chitosan oligosaccharides,’ achieving excellent results in the Bioactive Materials category.
