Kim Hyung-mi, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Criticizes Poor Management of National Funded Projects
Kim Hyung-mi, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, pointed out that the national government-funded project ‘Dongnae Sangkwon Baljeonso’ is being operated inadequately.
On the 17th, during the 315th extraordinary session’s district administration questioning, Councilor Kim criticized the poor operation and insufficient supervision of ‘Dongnae Sangkwon Baljeonso,’ as well as the lack of a proactive attitude toward securing future project budgets.
Councilor Kim stated, “As the Small Business Support Center is launching a national government public offering project for the first time, the process of selecting the most important supervising institution was neither objective nor thoroughly reviewed,” and expressed concern about whether this public offering project can be successfully completed and yield good results.
She also criticized ▲the insufficient project promotion by the supervising institution of the public offering project ▲expenditure of project funds not included in the plan and excessive personnel expenses ▲inadequate management and supervision of the supervising institution by the department ▲lack of willingness to secure budget when changing the project budget to a special budget ▲insufficient measures to ensure objectivity in small business support projects.
In particular, she demanded “the Small Business Support Center, which should proactively lead the public offering project, to improve its willingness to promote the project, as well as establish measures to ensure objectivity in small business support projects and smooth management of center staff.”
Councilor Kim added, “I sincerely hope that the center, created to fully support small business owners with the urgent belief that the Seo-gu district can thrive only if the alleys come alive, will invigorate the alley economy and achieve remarkable results.”
