Gwangju Seo-gu to Hold 'Eoullim Hanmadang' at Sangmu Citizen Park on the 20th

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) will hold the ‘2023 Eoullim Hanmadang’ on the 20th at Sangmu Citizen Park.

According to Seo-gu on the 17th, this event will be held under the theme ‘Let’s recharge precious and certain happiness in the village’ starting at 2 PM, featuring cultural events such as Our Village Pride Contest, Cheerful Sports Day, experience booths including drone experiences, and a special performance by Ulala Session.

In Part 1, there will be performances by the Classic Friends Children’s Choir including ‘A Wonderful Day in October’ and ‘The Dream of an Octopus,’ the proclamation ceremony of Kindness City Seo-gu, and commendations for meritorious persons.

In Part 2, teams formed by hub-dong and connected-dong by region will participate in the Cheerful Sports Day, and an awards ceremony for the village activity video contest produced directly by the resident autonomy (committee) of 18 dongs will be held.

In Part 3, there will be an invited performance by Ulala Session, various performances including bands, b-boy, DJ parties, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Along with this, various experience events such as making rice balls, making old books, and InBody health measurements will be held at the regional dong BI (Brand Identity) booths, and play activities for children such as bubble shows, balloon performances, and air bounces will be conducted throughout the event site.

Additionally, a Happiness Picnic Zone where families can rest and stay, including Indian tents, will be prepared.

Seo-gu has deployed event guidance and operation personnel utilizing professional safety officers and volunteers in preparation for the large crowd expected at this event.

Traffic order maintenance and guidance personnel will be stationed on four roads around the event site (Sangmu Citizen-ro, Sangmu Nuri-ro, Sangmu Jayu-ro, Sangmu Park-ro), and parking convenience and event safety will be thoroughly ensured by allowing parking in the first lane and opening the second parking lot of Kim Daejung Convention Center free of charge.

Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “Through this Eoullim Hanmadang, I hope a new driving force will be created for the activation of the dong-centered living government, a Seo-gu type autonomy model, by residents uniting, communicating, and harmonizing.”
