Gangbuk-gu to Hold 'Autumn Night Concert' on the 21st at 4·19 Democratic Cemetery
Davichi, Big Mama, Kim Pil, Byun Jin Sub, and Others Performances
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will hold the '2023 Autumn Night Concert' at the National April 19th Democratic Cemetery on the 21st from 3 PM to 9 PM.
Considering the nature of the memorial concert held at the National April 19th Democratic Cemetery, the district changed the event name from the previous 'Autumn Night Music Festival' to 'Autumn Night Concert' this year. Through the concert, they plan to share the spirit of April 19th and the meaning of democracy achieved through the April 19th Revolution with all generations.
The concert will be divided into ▲Cultural Event (3 PM?5 PM) ▲Official Ceremony (6 PM?6:30 PM) ▲Part 1 Concert (6:30 PM?7:20 PM) ▲Part 2 Concert (7:20 PM?9:10 PM).
The cultural event starting at 3 PM will feature a pottery experience program. At 6 PM, the official ceremony will take place, including an introduction to the concert, congratulatory speeches, opening declaration, and performances. Before the official ceremony, there will be a pre-ceremony performance by traditional Korean musician Park Ae-ri and a shamanic dance performance honoring the spirits of the martyrs buried at the National April 19th Democratic Cemetery.
The Part 1 concert will begin with musical and opera performances by tenor Jung Ho-yoon, baritone Lee Eung-kwang, and soprano Lee Sang-eun. In the Part 2 concert, four popular singers?Davichi, Big Mama, Kim Pil, and Byun Jin-sub?will continue the performances.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "I hope many people will participate in this concert held at the National April 19th Democratic Cemetery, a symbol of democracy in Korea, to enjoy cultural performances and reflect once again on the meaning of the April 19th Revolution. This is the second time the concert is held, hosted by Gangbuk-gu and supported by Seoul Metropolitan Government, the April 19th Democratic Revolution Association, the April 19th Revolution Victims’ Families Association, the April 19th Revolution Contributors Association, and the Gangbuk Cultural Foundation, with sponsorship from Shinhan Bank.
