Neowiz's 'P-ui Geojit' Surpasses 1 Million Global Cumulative Sales
Neowiz announced on the 17th that its single-player action RPG "P-ui Geojit" has surpassed 1 million copies in global cumulative sales.
This achievement was reached about a month after the global official release, based on aggregated digital and console package sales on Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox as of the 15th. Overseas sales account for more than 90%, including North America, Europe, and Japan, with high digital and physical package sales on PlayStation. The break-even point has already been surpassed.
The success of P-ui Geojit is significant as a new IP game that reinterprets the classic "Pinocchio" and overcomes various challenges, including Neowiz's first attempt at the Souls-like genre. In particular, it is recognized in the traditionally console-demanding North American and European markets, and as a Korean AAA-level console game achievement, it is also evaluated as contributing to the diversification of the domestic game market.
Since its release on September 19, P-ui Geojit has shown steady sales performance in the global market. During the release week (September 18?24), it ranked 3rd on the video game box charts in the UK and France, 1st on the German PlayStation 5 chart, 3rd in Japan, and also appeared on charts in the US and Canada.
Awards from reputable ceremonies are also anticipated. It was nominated for "Best Visual Design" at the global video game awards, the "Golden Joystick Awards." Attention is focused on whether it will achieve a second win following its triple crown at "Gamescom 2022."
The Metacritic review released on September 14 continues to offer positive evaluations, highlighting its "engaging story," "solid world-building," "excellent weapon combination system," and calling it "the best Souls-like game released this year." As of the 17th, the Metacritic (PS5) score is 80, and Steam user reviews show 89% "Very Positive."
