KOTRA Hosts '2023 Korea Defense and Security Export Consultation'
14th Annual
Over 340 Export Consultations Scheduled This Year
KOTRA announced on the 17th that it will hold the '2023 Korea Defense and Security Export Consultation (hereinafter KODAS 2023)' for two days starting from the 18th at KINTEX in Ilsan.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, this event is the largest specialized export consultation in the domestic defense and security sector, marking its 14th edition since its inception in 2011. In particular, this year's event was planned in conjunction with the '2023 Second Half Boom-up Korea (KINTEX),' held on the largest scale ever to achieve a 'second half export plus turn.'

Through the event, about 340 export consultations will be conducted connecting 59 small and medium-sized enterprises in the defense and security sector with 50 overseas buyers from 24 countries. The export consultations were arranged through matching between domestic defense and security companies that applied to participate by August and overseas buyers recruited by KOTRA's overseas trade centers. The number of effective consultations is expected to increase by about 15% compared to the previous year.
Our companies plan to use KODAS 2023 as an opportunity to pioneer sales channels for various export items in the defense and security sector, including ▲drones and anti-drones ▲protective equipment ▲aerospace parts ▲security software ▲fire safety ▲access control.
In addition, throughout the year, KOTRA's Defense Materials Trade Support Center cooperates with overseas trade centers to hold projects such as the 'Defense and Security Online Delegation Project' and the 'Defense and Security Global Partnering Consultation.' The purpose is to continuously discover promising overseas buyers and expand one-on-one online video consultations, supporting domestic companies' entry into overseas markets through various channels.
