Geumcheon-gu Promotes Social Economy to Widely Spread 'Sustainable Social Values'

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will hold the "2023 Geumcheon-gu Social Economy Festival" at the district office plaza from 12 PM to 5 PM on October 20.

Under the theme "Social Economy! Open! (The Future of Geumcheon) Stand! (The Center of Geumcheon) Embrace! (The Value of Geumcheon)," the Social Economy Festival is organized to widely promote the value of social economy to residents.

A total of 31 organizations will participate, including 16 Geumcheon-gu social economy enterprises, the Seoul Southwest Working Moms Support Center, the Seoul Southern Women's Development Center, the Women Entrepreneurs Incubation Center, and small business owners.

Each organization will set up booths to promote and sell social enterprise products and operate programs where visitors can experience the activities of social economy organizations.

A commemorative ceremony will be held at 2 PM, and before and after the ceremony, various side events such as celebratory performances, a social economy OX quiz, and paper airplane flying wishing for the activation of the social economy will be prepared.

Additionally, a flea market where residents can participate will be held. Ten percent of the sales amount will be used as donations for the local community.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I hope the Social Economy Festival will help share the achievements of the social economy over the year with the residents and build a collaborative foundation among social economy enterprises, related organizations, and residents. We will continue to do our best to support the activation of the social economy."
