Magnitude 6.0 Earthquake Occurs in the Sea Southwest of Okinawa, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan
At 7:42 PM on the 16th (Korean time), a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in the sea area 242 km southwest of Okinawa, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration citing foreign observation agencies.
The epicenter was located at 25.10 degrees north latitude and 125.60 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 40 km.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "There will be no domestic impact."
Caretakers in Naha, the central city of Okinawa Prefecture, are covering flowerpots on the streets on June 31 in preparation for Typhoon Mawar, the second typhoon of the season.
