Gwangju Buk-gu and Daegu Dalseo-gu Youth Cultural Exchange
On the 16th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the 'Yeong-Honam Youth Cultural Exchange Event' together with its sister city, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, to promote healthy youth development and harmony among youths from different regions.
The Yeong-Honam Youth Cultural Exchange Event is designed to provide youths from Buk-gu, Gwangju and Dalseo-gu, Daegu with opportunities to experience each region's history and culture, fostering mutual understanding of their unique local cultures and strengthening friendship among youths from the sister cities.
Marking its 26th year, this year's event will take place over two days from the 21st to the 22nd, featuring a reciprocal exchange format where youths from Dalseo-gu will be invited to Buk-gu, and youths from Buk-gu will visit Dalseo-gu. A total of 80 youths, 40 from each region, will participate.
On the first day, the 21st, the visiting youths from each region will meet at Jirisan Rest Area before moving to each other's regions to explore representative historical and cultural sites such as the Namdo Local Food Museum, Korean Classical Literature Museum, E-World, and 83 Tower, along with various side events for social activities.
On the final day, the 22nd, the youths invited to Buk-gu will have a meeting planned with the participating youths and the respective district mayors. The youths visiting each region will conclude their schedule with warm encouragement and farewell from Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, and Lee Tae-hoon, Mayor of Dalseo-gu.

A Buk-gu official stated, "Through this cultural exchange event, we expect not only to enhance friendship with Dalseo-gu, Daegu but also for Yeong-Honam youths to learn about each other's history and culture, which will have positive effects such as improving the regional image. We will continue to strengthen ties with our sister city to promote various exchange programs that foster mutual growth between regions."
