Prosecution Indicts Assembly Member Hwang Bo-seung-hee Without Detention for 'Illegal Political Fund Receipt'
Independent lawmaker Hwang Bo-seung-hee (Busan Jung-Yongdo), accused of receiving illegal political funds, has been indicted.
The Public and International Crime Investigation Division of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Hyung-won) announced on the 16th that Hwang was indicted without detention on charges of violating the Political Funds Act and the Act on the Prohibition of Solicitation and Receipt of Money and Valuables. The prosecution also indicted Mr. A, who provided illegal political funds to Hwang, on the same charges without detention.
According to the prosecution, from March 2020 to July 2021, Hwang is accused of receiving 50 million won from Mr. A and accepting rental benefits of about 32 million won, including the deposit and monthly rent for an apartment in Mapo, Seoul. She is also accused of using about 60 million won on a credit card provided by Mr. A.
