Ahn Cheol-soo: "Lee Jun-seok, the height of arrogance who only engages in internal backstabbing... Request for expulsion to the Ethics Committee"
Ahn Cheol-soo Submits Disciplinary Request with 16,000 Signatures
"Arrogance Reaches Its Peak"
People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo officially demanded the expulsion of former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok.
On the 16th, at a press conference in the National Assembly, Ahn said, "The most important task for our party to regain public trust and win the general election is the people," adding, "We must drive out the bad people who criticize and mock our party more than the Democratic Party, incite internal strife, and arrogantly claim that our party will lose by a few percentage points in the election."
Ahn specifically mentioned former leader Lee and announced his intention to request expulsion disciplinary action from the party's Ethics Committee. He criticized, "The former leader, trapped in the arrogance that he made President Yoon by his own power, caused conflicts, was disciplined, yet continues to mock and ridicule the party through broadcast appearances, engaging only in internal backstabbing at the height of arrogance. He entered politics at a young age under the patronage of the Park Geun-hye administration, was praised and treated well for party reform, but his arrogance has reached its peak." He continued, "How long will you allow this spoiled child to cause trouble in the party? Together with the 16,036 citizens who voluntarily joined the signature campaign to expel former leader Lee from the party, I will request the party's Ethics Committee to impose expulsion disciplinary action on Lee Jun-seok."
Ahn referred to the controversy over Lee’s use of abusive language during the recent Seoul Gangseo District mayoral campaign, saying, "Former leader Lee omitted the part where a citizen cursed at me and instead spread fake news on a morning broadcast, claiming that I was largely responsible for the election defeat due to my harsh words toward Democratic candidate Jin Gyo-hoon. The fake news incident caused by former leader Lee against our party during the Gangseo District mayoral election was an election interference operation."
He added, "If we leave former leader Lee alone, he will continue internal backstabbing within the party in next year’s general election, produce fake news, appear on broadcasts, and mock and ridicule the party. Strict punishment is necessary to prevent such incidents."

Regarding youth politics symbolized by former leader Lee, Ahn said, "Former leader Lee has now lost the representation of the 2030 generation and has no support base, so he is only deceiving the world with his sharp tongue and ravaging the party, yet he is still overinflating himself as if he is the representative of youth. It is time to expel him from the party and pursue expansion politics by recruiting a large number of competent and moral new 2030 youth and capable, reputable emerging politicians who the public will appreciate."
