Which Place Beat the Eiffel Tower and Colosseum to Become Europe's Top Tourist Attraction?
Netherlands Guinness Storehouse Reclaims No.1 Spot After 8 Years
The Guinness Storehouse, which produces Guinness beer, has been ranked first in the '2023 Best European Tourist Attraction' selected by the World Travel Awards, surpassing France's Eiffel Tower and Rome's Colosseum.
The World Travel Awards are known as the Oscars of the travel industry. The Guinness Storehouse reclaimed the top spot after 8 years since 2015.
Located at St. James's Gate in Dublin, Ireland, the Guinness Storehouse opened in 2000. Visitors to the Guinness Storehouse can glimpse the history, heritage, and craftsmanship of the brand that has a legacy spanning over 250 years.
Once home to more than 250,000 oak barrels, the Guinness Storehouse consists of spaces where visitors can experience beer brewing culture, exhibition areas showcasing the evolution of the Guinness brand and its advertisements, a tasting room, and a souvenir shop. The brewery tour costs 12 euros (approximately 17,000 KRW) per person.
Especially popular is the 'Gravity Bar' located on the 7th floor of the Guinness Storehouse, which is surrounded by glass and offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Dublin city. After the tour, presenting the tasting coupon included in the admission fee allows visitors to receive a perfect pint of Guinness.
At the Guinness beer education facility, 'Connoisseur Experience,' visitors can taste signature products including Guinness Draft and Extra Stout. Only adults can participate, and the cost is 30 euros (approximately 43,000 KRW).
