A Man in His 50s Found Dead in Vehicle Submerged in Forest Recreation Area Pond
A male driver in his 50s was found dead inside a car that had been submerged for several days in a pond at a recreational forest in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the Hwasun Police Station in Jeollanam-do on the 14th, a report was received at 3:13 PM the previous day about a Carnival vehicle submerged in a pond in Iseo-myeon, Hwasun-gun.
Underwater search efforts revealed the driver, Mr. A (59), deceased inside the vehicle.
After analyzing the vehicle's black box and other evidence, the police estimate that the vehicle fell into the pond on the 9th.
However, since there were no witnesses in the mountain area, it is believed the vehicle remained undiscovered for several days before being found.
