Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station, VR-Based School Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention Education
The Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju recently conducted a 'VR Experience Safety Education' at Sinchang Middle School in the district to prevent school violence and sexual violence.
This education utilized VR (Virtual Reality) equipment to allow students to virtually experience urgent situations that they may not have directly encountered but can easily witness or experience at school or nearby.
The content was composed of four scenarios: illegal filming in school restrooms, sexual harassment on city buses, cyber verbal abuse, and school violence in the classroom.
Students operated the VR devices themselves to indirectly experience the perspectives of both victims and perpetrators.
Following this, discussions were held on personal perspectives, coping methods, and reporting procedures.
