Ministry of Industry Invites 40 Global Defense Companies... Supporting SoBuJang Export
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 13th that it held the '2023 Global Partnering (GP) Day' event from the 10th for four days at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to support the export of defense industry-related materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) companies.
The GP Day event, hosted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Global Industrial Cooperation Association (GICA), invited 40 global defense companies to share trends and strategies in the defense industry of various countries through seminars.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy also conducted '1:1 export consultations' targeting 64 domestic defense SoBuJang companies. On the 13th, a meeting was held with eight leading global companies in the defense sector, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Airbus, to explore export support measures by identifying the demands of Korea's small and medium-sized enterprises.

Lee Seung-ryeol, Director of Industrial Policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said, "To enhance the competitiveness of defense SoBuJang companies, we are preparing a technology development roadmap for defense materials and parts, aiming to announce it next month," and added, "We ask for continuous interest from companies."
