Imsil-gun, Chrysanthemum Flowers in Full Bloom at Cheese Theme Park and Okjeongho Suspension Bridge

The chrysanthemum flowers planted at Imsil Cheese Theme Park, Okjeongho Suspension Bridge, and Bungeo Island Ecological Park, which have rapidly emerged as representative tourist attractions in Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, are expected to reach full bloom this weekend, marking the peak of a splendid autumn flower festival.

According to the county on the 12th, although the Cheese Festival has ended, about 32,000 chrysanthemum flower pots placed and displayed around the festival site including the Cheese Theme Park, and about 12,000 chrysanthemum flower pots at Okjeongho Bungeo Island Ecological Park will bloom fully this mid-month weekend, welcoming numerous tourists.

The more than 40,000 chrysanthemum flower pots in various colors were carefully cultivated by the county Agricultural Technology Center from early spring, playing a key role in autumn tourism in Imsil, including the Cheese Festival and Okjeongho.

The county Agricultural Technology Center has been strategically cultivating and nurturing landscape chrysanthemums since 2015.

In fact, the chrysanthemums beautifully displayed around the Cheese Theme Park greatly contributed to attracting a record-breaking 559,500 visitors to the Cheese Festival this year.

They provided visitors to the Imsil N Cheese Festival with sightseeing attractions and a healing space with chrysanthemums, helping to create a successful festival atmosphere.

The chrysanthemums currently displayed at Imsil Cheese Theme Park and Okjeongho Bungeo Island are expected to be in full bloom this week, enhancing their splendor.

They are anticipated to showcase the true beauty of autumn chrysanthemums to tourists visiting Imsil-gun until the end of October this year.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors to the Imsil N Cheese Festival held for four days from the 6th to the 9th reached a record high of about 559,500, surpassing last year's 520,000, marking a historic record of tourists 21 times the total population of Imsil-gun, which is about 26,000.

Additionally, the virtuous cycle tourism linking the Cheese Festival and Okjeongho gained momentum, with about 80,000 tourists visiting the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge during the Chuseok holiday and the Cheese Festival period alone.

County Governor Shim Min said, “The chrysanthemums displayed at Imsil Cheese Theme Park and Okjeongho Bungeo Island will be in full bloom this week, presenting a magnificent spectacle. I hope families, friends, couples, and acquaintances visit together to enjoy healing and create wonderful memories.”
