Ulsan City Begins Full Implementation of Sinbok Rotary Conversion to At-Grade Intersection
The traffic system at Sinbok Rotary in Ulsan will be converted to an at-grade intersection system starting from 6 a.m. on the 15th.
Accordingly, vehicles traveling from Bukbu Sunhwan Road toward Samho-ro will be prohibited from making left turns, and entry to Samho-ro will be guided via U-turns under the Sinbok overpass. Currently, the left-turn traffic volume is about 37 vehicles per hour.
Ulsan City began construction on the Sinbok Rotary traffic system improvement project last July. After demolishing the 2nd Industrial Tower and the central traffic island, final works are underway to install traffic signals and adjust lanes necessary for operating the at-grade intersection.
Starting from 8 p.m. on the 14th, the project will enter the final phase of intersection conversion, with the at-grade intersection operation set to be fully implemented from 6 a.m. on the 15th.
Over the following month, the project will be completed with improvements to surrounding roads and traffic islands, installation of crosswalks, and reinforcement of safety facilities.
An official from Ulsan City stated, “We are intensively promoting safe driving among citizens during the weekend when the at-grade intersection conversion work is taking place, and we plan to continue publicizing through various media until the project is fully completed.”
