According to industry sources on the 13th, outdoor brand K2 has launched the lightweight down jacket 'Thin Air Superlight' as its flagship product. This product applies K2's patented 'Thindown' material, developed through down compression technology, to the back panel. By reducing bulk, it is lightweight and eliminates seams to prevent heat from escaping or cold air from seeping in, thereby enhancing warmth.
The company stated, "Based on a men's size 100, the product weighs only 600g, which is comparable to a Venti-sized coffee sold at coffee shops." The goose down used on the front panel and sleeves is certified under the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), ensuring that feathers are not forcibly taken from live animals and animal welfare is respected, emphasizing eco-friendliness.
Eider has released the 'Croffle Lightweight Down Series' using tube-shaped material. This product features square tubes inspired by croffles?croissants pressed in a waffle iron. With fewer seams, it reduces heat loss and infiltration, and like K2’s product, it uses RDS-certified filling.
Mountia competes with the 'Ace Lightweight Down Jacket' and 'Ace Down Vest,' made from 20-denier nylon for a light wearing experience. Denier is a term used to measure the thickness of yarn in fabric. One denier means that 9 km of yarn weighs 1 gram; the lower the denier, the thinner and denser the yarn, resulting in a softer fabric feel and better protection against down leakage.
Additionally, Black Yak introduced the 'Silas Padding Jacket' filled with recycled padding material 'Thermore.' A Black Yak representative said, "Its thin thickness allows it to be worn alone until late autumn and used as an inner layer in winter."
