Gyeonggi-do to Conduct Comprehensive Audit in Yeoncheon-gun in November... Report Illegal and Unfair Acts
Gyeonggi Province will begin a preliminary investigation on the 18th of this month and conduct a comprehensive audit of Yeoncheon-gun from the 20th to the 28th of next month.
This comprehensive audit is in accordance with this year’s audit plan and will be conducted only on autonomous administrative affairs suspected of illegality based on reports or media coverage, while maximizing the autonomy of local administrative affairs.
During the preliminary investigation period, Gyeonggi Province will closely examine illegal or unfair acts causing inconvenience to residents' lives, and from the start to the completion of the audit, external experts including resident auditors will participate in a verification system to objectively inspect the process.
Additionally, various reception channels will be operated using the resident reporting system to ensure practical improvements in residents' lives.
The subjects of reports include various inconveniences experienced by residents, illegal or unfair acts by public officials, corruption by public officials, fraudulent claims on public finances, and illegal operations. However, matters involved in investigations or trials, issues that may infringe on private rights or privacy, and matters already audited or under audit by other institutions are excluded.
Furthermore, proactive administration by Yeoncheon-gun public officials that realizes public interest through unreasonable regulation improvements and recovery of the local economy will be exempted from penalties. However, strict measures will be taken against passive administration, corruption by public officials, fraudulent claims on public finances, illegal operations, and lax discipline.
