Chairman Kim Hyun-gi Meets with the Association of Korean American Presidents in the Americas to Discuss Exchange and Cooperation
The Association of Korean American Presidents in the U.S. Visits Seoul Metropolitan Council for the First Time... Utilizing Korean Diaspora Networks and Resources for City Promotion
Kim Hyun-ki, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, met with the Association of Korean American Presidents in the United States, who visited the Seoul Metropolitan Council for the first time on the 10th, to discuss ways to promote exchange and cooperation.
The Association of Korean American Presidents in the United States is a non-profit organization composed of current and former presidents of local Korean associations residing in the U.S., aiming to foster solidarity among Koreans living in America. They visited Korea to attend the ‘2030 World Korean Association Presidents Conference (October 3?6)’ hosted by the Ministry of Overseas Koreans.
On this day, a total of 27 members visited the Seoul Metropolitan Council, including Chairwoman Laura Jeon (former LA Korean Association President) and Kim Sung-min, Operations Committee Member (Kentucky Korean Association President).
Chairman Kim Hyun-ki first expressed gratitude, saying, “The overseas Koreans in the U.S. play a significant role in enhancing the status of the Republic of Korea and Seoul.”
He added, “Seoul’s competitiveness is directly linked to the competitiveness of Korea. We hope to actively utilize the strengths of the Korean American associations, such as their networks and resources, to promote Seoul and explore ways to enhance its competitiveness together.”
Laura Jeon, Chairwoman of the Association of Korean American Presidents in the United States, said, “Our Korean associations proudly regard the Republic of Korea and Seoul as our homeland. When abroad, everyone becomes a patriot. There are diverse resources and talents scattered across each state, and we are ready to collaborate whenever Seoul requests.”

On this day, the Korean Association Presidents showed interest in various policy areas such as Seoul’s public safety, homeless policies, and civil complaint systems, engaging in friendly talks. They also toured the main chamber of the Seoul Metropolitan Council.
